"After the agreed upon and prescribed period for conservative rehab expired, the Sabres medical staff determined that surgery was necessary. Our camp was under the impression that the Sabres specialist was okay with artificial disc replacement surgery until it was not," said Jack Eichel's agents.
I'll remind you that Eichel suffered a herniated disc, and then in order to fully repair it, the star center must go under the knife, according to team doctors, but Kevyn Adams is going against that recommendation. Not good, boss. So the Eichel clan repeated the requests for the organization to allow the surgery so that the American could be ready to start the next campaign.
"Repeated requests have been made to the Sabres since early June, but to no avail. This process is preventing Jack from playing in the NHL and it's not working."
Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli, who are handling Jack Eichel's career, are therefore downright furious with the Buffalo-based franchise even more so now that they were certain their client was going to leave Buffalo before the free agent market opened. It's all dragging in the mud, which just goes to show how inevitable the divorce is. Eichel can't come back into this environment with all these things that are currently being stirred up.
After a press conference delivered by Adams following the opening of the free agent market, he gave an update on Jack Eichel's status, which led Eichel's representatives to write a statement and send it to the Buffalo Sabres... who didn't dare respond to it.
"If there is a possible transaction and we feel like we're doing the right thing for the Sabres, because we feel like it would help us get better, we would be open to it. We're not in a position to make a move just for the sake of making that move. It doesn't make any sense," they wrote.
This issue has been dragging on for so long, it's tainting Jack Eichel's reputation, which is very sad...
