The Montreal Canadiens have been relatively lucky with injuries this season, compared to previous years, except for the preseason. However, in the past few hours, things have taken a turn for the worse in that department.

Of course, there is the injury suffered by Kaiden Guhle.

But now, another injury has been added to the list.

In the last few minutes, the Canadiens organization announced that forward Josh Anderson would miss today's practice to receive treatment.

A rare treatment day for Josh Anderson

Normally, we wouldn't be too concerned about a simple treatment day, but in this case, it's different.

Anyone who watched last night's game could easily see that Anderson is playing through a rather severe injury.

He is clearly discomforted, and there's one particular sequence from last night's game that caught attention, as it took everything Anderson had to return to the bench on his own.

Anderson deserves all our admiration because he is giving absolutely everything he has for the Canadiens' logo, but he is clearly not at 100%.

The fact that the Canadiens are keeping Rafaël Harvey-Pinard «up» just in case strengthens this perception.

This will be a situation to follow in the coming hours, hoping Anderson will be able to play tomorrow night's game against the Minnesota Wild at the Bell Centre.

He is truly an important piece for the Canadiens this season.

If not, RHP may be inserted into the lineup.

Anderson, 30 years old, has accumulated 18 points in 50 games this season, including 8 goals.

The 6-foot-3, 226-pound forward is having his best season in Montreal for quite some time.

He is important for the team's success, especially in this thrilling race for the NHL playoffs.
