As you know, the Montreal Canadiens have a date tonight with the Florida Panthers and thus, their former defenseman Ben Chiarot.

It will certainly be special for the veteran defenseman and also, for his former teammates.

When asked about it in the last few minutes, Tricolore forward Jake Evans announced (in jest or not, you be the judge) that he was going to make a modification to a piece of equipment in order to prepare for Chiarot:

"I will definitely be wearing more padding, more padding on my shoulder pads tonight. I expect a few cross-checks from Ben, especially against Caufield and I."

And he adds:

"Yeah, I expect him to hit some bigger cross-checks and take good care of us tonight (of me and Cole Caufield). I think Cole and I will definitely wear extra padding." - Jake Evans

I love it haha! It says a lot about the great relationship Chiarot had with his younger teammates, including Caufield and Evans. Obviously he's going to pay close attention to them and won't give them a hard time in front of the net, but don't expect him to try to hurt them either.

It will be interesting to see.
