Jeff Petry was a doubtful case yesterday, but he managed to put on his jersey and play in the matchup against the Anaheim Ducks. Petry played 25 minutes 27, and then when he came on, you could tell he wasn't in top form. He is clearly not playing with his current form since the opening of the calendar.
That being said, Chantal Machabée talked about Jeff Petry during her appearance on 91.9 Sports. According to the excellent journalist's report, Petry would practically need a wheelchair to get around because it seems so laborious.
In full, her speech was as follows:
"I saw Petry in the hotel lobby and he is having trouble putting one foot in front of the other. He's all crooked and I wonder why they didn't bring him a wheelchair."
Petry learned from his captain, which is to play while seriously injured, which shows some leadership from the 33-year-old veteran.
Imagine for a moment if the Habs were to be without Brendan Gallagher and Petry for a long time, what little leadership is left would take a hit!
