Eric Engels, answered some questions from hockey fans via his Twitter account yesterday.
When asked about the possibility of seeing Jonathan Drouin be back with the Canadiens next year, he replied this:
I believe so. Personally looking forward to seeing him play for MSL https://t.co/J1WiI2EaE5 Eric Engels (@EricEngels) < a href="https://twitter.com/EricEngels/status/1499014452053688322?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 2, 2022
Remember that Drouin has been out since January 20 due to a wrist injury and has therefore not yet played under Martin St. Louis. And we bet that several fans are eager to see number 92 at work with this new enthusiasm that has driven the team since the arrival of the new coach.
Regarding the other Canadiens players, Engels mentioned that he would be surprised if Kent Hughes traded forward Christian Dvorak and he assessed the chances of Jeff Petry leaving Montreal at 50-50. He also said defensemen Brett Kulak and Chris Wideman could very well be traded by March 21.
Perhaps Chris Wideman. Maybe Kulak, unless the Canadians re-sign him.
Personally, I'd be surprised if Dvorak moved. And it's 50-50 on Petry. https://t.co/D69wiydKb8 Eric Engels (@EricEngels) March 2, 2022
It must be said that the fact that Dvorak and Drouin are still under contract next year could slow down certain teams from acquiring them, but Kent Hughes would still have to be able to see these two players evolve under the orders of Martin St. Louis. before making a decision.
