After a few weeks of lull, trade rumors have resurfaced with the Montreal Canadiens, and there are a few specific reasons.
First, Joel Armia is about to return to the lineup, so Kent Hughes is left with a forward surplus problem.
Secondly, with injuries to Joel Edmundson and Mike Matheson, the CH general manager wants to bring in some defensive reinforcements to help his youngsters.
And as there is rarely smoke without fire, TSN's Darren Dreger has just confirmed that Kent Hughes is active on the trade market.
"Montreal is active in the market to try to acquire a right-handed defenseman." - Darren Dreger
"According to Darren Dreger, via Insider Trading, Montreal is in the market for a right-handed defenseman." - Costa Rontzocos
