As we told you in the last few minutes, we have just learned that the Pittsburgh Penguins' excellent defenseman, Kristopher Letang, has suffered a stroke.
On this subject, new information has just surfaced.
Head coach Mike Sullivan made a statement that speaks volumes about Letang's future in the NHL:
"The biggest challenge for me today was keeping him off the ice. He wanted to skate today."
- Reported by Josh Yohe
He probably won't be out of the game that long. At least, if these statements are any indication. The general manager adds this:
"Letang was already asking when he could start skating again. He's a tough SOB," Ron Hextall said.
- Reported by Josh Yohe
Wow, that says a lot about his motivation to come back soon. Our hearts go out to Kris and his family.
Early developments seem encouraging:
"I am optimistic that I will be able to start skating again soon." - Kris Letang
To be continued!
