Major: Last-minute surprise announcement regarding David Reinbacher
In the last few minutes, a major announcement has been made regarding young defenseman David Reinbacher, who was the 5th overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens in the most recent NHL draft.
A verdict has been reached.
Unfortunately, the idea of seeing Reinbacher join the Laval Rocket for the 2023-2024 season can be forgotten.
Larry Mitchell, the Sporting Director of the Kloten hockey club in Switzerland, which is David Reinbacher's European team, has just made a significant announcement.
Principle agreement for Reinbacher
According to his statement, Kloten and the Canadiens have reached a principle agreement to ensure that Reinbacher will play in Europe next season.
The only possible exception is if he makes the Montreal lineup.
So, it will be either Kloten or the Canadiens for Reinbacher next season. (Not Laval nor the CHL)
"If he manages to break into the NHL right away, we will be very happy for him. And if that's not the case, we are thrilled to have him with us for another year in Kloten." - Larry Mitchell
There you have it!
Reinbacher, 18 years old, tallied 22 points in 46 games last year with Kloten.
