A few days ago, earlier this week, at the start of the Montreal Canadiens' training camp, there was a lot of bad news on the injury front.
Among the injuries in question, the one of captain Nick Suzuki obviously drew attention:
Nick Suzuki has a lower body injury and will have to miss (at least) two weeks.
In this young start to the campaign, it was concerning.
First, because it's never ideal to start a season injured, and potentially at risk of dragging this out all year. Secondly, because it's never ideal to miss a whole training camp (or almost).
Some were concerned about Suzuki's health, for the start of the regular season.
THERE IS NEWS
In the last few seconds, reporter Eric Engels, who covers the CH for Sportsnet, posted this among other things:
"[...] As for Nick Suzuki, who is missing the first two weeks of camp, "If there was a game tonight, he would play," a source said."
This is great news and an important development! It settles that issue, Suzuki will be in his position for the inaugural game.
"The Canadiens are being careful with Suzuki, as they should be."
So there is no worry about the captain, he will be at his position and 100% ready, from the first game of the season.
The organization is just ultra-cautious with Suzuki, and that's why he'll be out for two weeks.
More details to follow!
