Marc Bergevin seems to care about his number 4 goalie

Michael McNiven will extend his stay with the Montreal Canadiens for at least another year, as he has agreed to a one-year deal that will pay him $750,000 in the NHL and $110,000 guaranteed with the Laval Rocket.
McNiven, a professional athlete since the 2017-2018 season, has been slow to make his mark on a regular basis with the Laval Rocket. He only played 16 games with the Rocket in the last two seasons, spending most of his time in the ECHL.
When he was in the junior league, McNiven was often compared to Carey Price because of his great potential. However, he is now 24 years old and is not yet considered a true AHL goalie. His development is clearly not going as planned. He may be sharing the net with Cayden Primeau next year with the Rocket. Will he be able to establish himself as the goalie with interesting potential that we have been waiting for so long? He will have one more year to prove it.
