The Montreal Canadiens began the year 2022 with a 5-2 loss to the Florida Panthers. Following the game, a leave of absence for the Montreal club was scheduled because of the home games that will be postponed in February, if everything goes as planned.
What we did not know was that the Habs are going to confine themselves for five days, until January 6, as a preventive measure. Also, just like the Habs, the activities of the Laval Rocket will be frozen until January 6. Place Bell, the Bell Sports Complex and the Bell Centre will therefore be in «quarantine».
Jeff Gorton said:
"With all the new cases that are happening on a daily basis and for the health of all our players and staff, we think a break in activities is needed at this point. This stop will give our players time to get back healthy so we can continue the season safely!»
Let us hope that all the players manage to recover quickly so that the team can get its head out of the water.
