With COVID-19 cases currently exploding in the NHL, it would be legitimate to think that the presence of the players at the next Olympics would be compromised.
While appearing on JiC Lajoie's show, Renaud Lavoie shared some important information on the matter.
"People have misinterpreted the NHL's communiqué. There will be no Christmas gatherings to avoid the virus spreading. If it was possible to do them and in early January, we end up with six or seven teams with outbreaks of COVID-19, and you won't have an Olympics. Yesterday, I spoke to some of the Canadian team officials who told me that they were getting ready to go and that there was no indication that the situation was going to get worse. There will be a very tight bubble. How do you want to get into a bubble and test positive? It's impossible."
Lavoie was clearly the bearer of good news tonight, as many people are still doubting the NHL's presence at the Olympics. However, that speculation seems to have been disproved considerably.
