Nothing goes right for Jesperi Kotkaniemi

If times are tough for the Tricolore at the beginning of the 2021-2022 season, it's quite the opposite for the Carolina Hurricanes who are sitting atop the Metropolitan Division with an 11-2-0 record. However, this is clearly not because of Jesperi Kotkaniemi's performances.
The man who was selected third overall in 2018 by the Tricolore is having a rough time with his new team. In the last six games, he has no points and only two shots on goal.
Moreover, we can see that the Hurricanes are starting to lose patience with KK who did not even exceed ten minutes of ice time last night. Remember that at the beginning of the season, the Finn was used on the first trio alongside his compatriot Sebastien Aho.
With a contract of $6.1 million dollars, the 21-year-old forward will have to do more if he doesn't want to take a big pay cut next year. Remember that KK will become a restricted free agent at the end of next season. However, there is no guarantee that the Hurricanes will want to sign him with such a low return.
