By the time Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes acquired forward Evgeny Dadonov from the Vegas Golden Knights in the trade involving (the contract of) Shea Weber, many were hoping he might have good value to be traded at the trade deadline.

Possibly for a youngster or for a pick.

With that date fast approaching (in less than two months), reputable tipster Pierre LeBrun revealed some important, but disappointing, information in this matter.

LeBrun spoke with eight general managers who are expected to be buyers by March 3, and the question he asked was simple: what price would they be willing to pay to acquire Dadonov?

Their answer? Nothing at all.

Unfortunately, they are not interested in Dadonov. So don't be surprised if he finishes the season with the Habs and is not traded.

In 35 games this season, Dadonov, 33 years old, has 10 points including two short-handed goals. Remember that he earns $5M per year until this summer.

"Pierre LeBrun said he spoke to eight teams that will be buyers at the deadline and none had any interest in Evgenii Dadonov. So don't get your hopes up." - HabsLinks
