This Sunday, Gino Odjick's sister announced the death of her brother. Gino was widely loved and respected throughout the NHL. As one of the league's last true big men, he was part of a brotherhood that shared an unparalleled level of respect.
During his career, Gino Odjick dropped his gloves dozens of times, including 5 times against Tie Domi. After Odjick's passing, Domi took to Instagram to share this message.
"So sad and heavy hearted to hear about the loss of one of my favorite brothers to do it. The most respectful and kindest guy you could ever meet. We fought a lot but we were never angry, that's how much I loved him and told him so. My deepest condolences to Gino's family, friends and supporters. He was one of the best. He will be missed but never forgotten #ForeverGino #Fraternity"
The brotherhood of NHL strongmen is strong and the bond between them is undeniable. And even though they are becoming increasingly rare, the respect between them has never wavered.
