Possible turnaround concerning Jonathan Drouin? A surprising statement from Danièle Sauvageau

It's no surprise to anyone, there are too many forwards on the Montreal Canadiens right now, and some surprising names are going to be waived.
Especially if youngsters like Juraj Slafkovsky, Emil Heineman, Owen Beck or Filip Mesar force their way into the lineup. Surprise veterans could be placed in the lineup.
We suspect that there will most likely be a big surprise cut between now and the start of the season for the CH, but we don't know who exactly will be targeted.
Will it be Mike Hoffman? Jonathan Drouin? Joel Armia? Evgeny Dadonov? Another one?
Paul Byron and Michael Pezzetta will most likely be the ones to go, but they won't be the only ones.
Unless they convert to right-handed defensemen and we take a page from the Toronto Maple Leafs?
All kidding aside, this will be a big story to watch next week, and Daniele Sauvageau has raised a possibility that is getting a lot of attention.
Could we see a dramatic turn of events, could Jonathan Drouin be put on waivers?
See his answer :
"Anything is possible in his case. We talk about his confidence, but I think he's looking for his spot. There are 24 forward players, 8 right-handed, 7 left-handed... I have the impression that Martin St-Louis really wants to develop duos and then add (a player).
We're talking about Caufield and Suzuki. Is Anderson going to play there? If I was Jonathan, I'd be thinking, "Where do I fit in?" And when you don't have a place on a team, on a work group, then you actually start to wonder." - Danièle Sauvageau, on 98.5 Sports
It's true that Drouin has moved around a lot in the lineup since the start of camp, but we tend to believe that he should at least be given a chance to show what he can accomplish under Martin St. Louis' guidance and direction.
What do you think?
