The eventual first pick at the next draft, Shane Wright, will represent Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship. He will even be one of the team's headliners, despite his young age of 17.
The captain of the Kingston Frontenacs is pumped up for this competition. He's even full of confidence, it's obvious.
Wright is quite a hockey player, but also a great leader.
I have always been one of the youngest players on my teams, said Wright on Tuesday. It seems to me that it doesn't really matter when you look at what's happening on the ice.
I always try to be a leader, no matter what situation I find myself in. I want to set an example with my play on the ice and my work habits.»
The centre player with the «exceptional» status did not cease to praise his teammates, a few days before the start of the hostilities. He obviously doesn't intend to leave the tournament empty-handed, he wants to win.
«I will do everything I can to make this team happy. We have an incredible roster, 14 forwards, eight defenders and three goalies who are all great players. I intend to do my part to make sure we succeed.»
With such an attitude, despite his very young age, there is no doubt that the NHL roster that will make it his property will be very lucky. I could even say that he will have the opportunity to get hold of her potential captain. Wright will be an NHL captain, I am sure.
