It was the news of the day yesterday in the hockey world as defenseman P.K. Subban announced his retirement at the age of 33.
Also, yesterday, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes was on 98.5 FM for an interview with Mario Langlois.
You can guess that the host took the opportunity to ask the famous question to the GM, and Hughes gave a very interesting answer.
Many of us believed that P.K. Subban could return to the Montreal Canadiens, but did the CH really consider him this summer?
Especially when you consider this big piece of information revealed yesterday:
Check out Kent Hughes' response to whether the Habs have considered bringing him back:
"Yes, but... The priority for us was to go out and get players who can help us in the future." - Kent Hughes
Once again, the Habs GM was very transparent. He admits that he did consider the option of signing Subban and bringing him back to Montreal, but in the end, his team concluded that he's not the type of player the organization needs right now (and that's nothing against Subban).
"I've had contact with his agent, but we're looking at a younger defenceman." - Kent Hughes
Interesting! For details:
