At a press conference in the last few minutes, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis was asked the usual question regarding the identity of his starting goaltender for the next game.
For the past few games, we have been used to the classic "Sam will play tomorrow" answer, but that is not what Martin said today.
Today, Martin St-Louis answered this:
"Martin St-Louis when asked if Sam Montembeault will be the starter tomorrow against Boston: "I don't know yet""
- Priyanta Emrith
So we could be in for a surprise tomorrow against the best team in the league, the Boston Bruins.
Will Jake Allen return to the game tomorrow and get the start against the Bruins?
Will young Cayden Primeau get a start?
The door is now open.
It will be a file to follow, and know that these are possibilities following the answer of Martin St-Louis, but there is also obviously the possibility that Montembeault simply gets the start.
It's interesting, though, that St-Louis wouldn't confirm that.
Details to come.
