The Chicago Blackhawks have fired head coach Jeremy Colliton. His two assistants Sheldon Brookbank and Tomas Mitell have also been fired.

Derek King, head coach of the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL and the Blackhawks' feeder club, will be the interim coach.

This is a change that was highly anticipated in Chicago, it was only a matter of time.

Colliton was obviously tired and out of options to revive the club. Remember that he had already let forward Dominik Kubalik give the game plan to the other players during a timeout. He had literally given him the board.

The Illinois team has only one win in 12 games so far this season. The team is languishing in the bottom half of the NHL, 31st overall.

The organization has already been plagued by controversy since the Kyle Beach story, and now a coaching change has occurred. When will the roadblocks end for the Hawks? To be continued...
