Since the anticipated (and then confirmed) departure of Phillip Danault, the Montreal Canadiens have been among the teams reportedly showing interest in Arizona Coyotes center Christian Dvorak.
Craig Morgan, a correspondent for NHL Network covering the Arizona Coyotes' activities, has reportedly gotten an idea of the potential return that Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong could ask for in return for his 25-year-old American center. Basically, it would be nothing less than a first-round pick, as well as a quality prospect or a few other prospects.
In 54 games last season, Dvorak scored 31 points. In Montreal, he could fill the role of 2nd/3rd center, as he is a player with some defensive upside, but also has an offensive flair.
He previously played for the London Knights in the OHL, scoring 121 points in 59 games during the 2015-16 season alongside Mitch Marner and Matthew Tkachuk.
In short, Dvorak could indeed be an interesting option for Marc Bergevin, but at this price, it's worth thinking twice before getting into serious trade talks.
