The New Jersey Devils have extended the contract of their young star forward Jack Hughes for eight years, worth $8 million annually.
The first overall pick in the 2019 draft just received a nice vote of confidence from the organization. After all, he's the future of the club on offense along with Nico Hischier and Alexander Holtz.
Hughes, 20, had three points in two games before suffering from a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the team's last 17 games. He will return to action tonight against the San Jose Sharks.
