Phillip Danault is in his second season with the Kings organization and it's easy to see that the love is mutual between the two sides. In fact, the Quebecer had his best season in 2021-22 with 27 goals.
Danault was very useful to the Habs, but he was not used on the power play and had a strictly defensive role. With the Kings, the number 24 is used in all sorts of ways. He scored a nice goal on the power play on Friday.
The Kings didn't miss their chance to remind the Habs that they're glad they got Danault for free:
»Reminder that we're always grateful for Phil Danault!"
In his first year in Los Angeles, Danault helped his new team reach the playoffs against all odds. Moreover, they made it to the ultimate game, but got defeated by Connor McDavid's gang in a game 7.
