Now that Jeff Gorton is in charge of hockey operations, it's time to hire a general manager. Several candidates have been circling since Bergevin's departure, including Patrick Roy, Stéphane Quintal, Daniel Brière and Mathieu Darche. In the case of Vincent Damphousse, he wants nothing to do with such a position.

That being said, there is one name that I am unable to put down and that is Philippe Boucher, a hockey man and an exceptional human being. During his daily column on "JiC", Boucher confirmed to the host that he would like to meet with the organization to try his luck as GM or head scout.

Boucher has 748 games under his belt in the NHL, but he also has an extensive coaching and general manager background. He worked for the Rimouski Oceanic, spent five years with the Quebec Remparts as head coach and GM, and is currently the head coach of the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

The 48-year-old has an impeccable reputation and knows the QMJHL market like the back of his hand. He knows all the players since he is a scouting enthusiast. On top of that, he stays in Quebec. Hahaha! In short, isn't he the ideal candidate to take on the role of head scout or even general manager?
