Currently sidelined with various injuries, Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber may never play a game in the National Hockey League again.
What people haven't thought about as much is the possibility of him taking on a higher position in the near future. Perhaps it's not a coincidence that Weber is around the team in these turbulent times for the organization.
Having been seen playing soccer with his (ex?) teammates, would number 6 be negotiating a position in the organization? Without talking about a position as prestigious as general manager, seeing him occupy a role in the recruiting team would be very likely, for example.
To do so, Weber would first have to officially announce his retirement from professional hockey. Unless both announcements come at the same time? In short, another file that will be interesting to follow in the coming days.
