In the last few minutes, London Knights general manager Mark Hunter just offered an update and announcement regarding Logan Mailloux, and it's not particularly encouraging.
As you know, Mailloux is still recovering from a shoulder injury, and his recovery is not going as well as we would like.
While many fans and observers were very curious to see Mailloux in action at the Montreal Canadiens' 2022 training camp, all indications are that Mailloux will have to miss it.
Unless something happens, Mailloux will have to wait until the Canadiens' 2023 training camp, because his shoulder injury is not yet healed enough.
As Charles-Alexis Brisebois (DansLesCoulisses.com) reports, there's news.
Update from Mark Hunter
The general manager of the London Knights has indeed just announced this:
"No prep games (for Logan Mailloux) and after that it's going to depend on what his doctor recommends he do.
If he says Logan is ready and has regained his strength, he will play."
- Mark Hunter, London Knights GM
There's more. According to what Ryan Pyette (Ottawa Citizen) reports, Mailloux's presence for the London Knights' (OHL) season opener on September 30 is also in jeopardy.
Recall that with everything that has happened with Mailloux since 2019, he has only played 16 career games in the OHL.
Hopefully he can at least quintuple that number by next summer, and establish himself as one of the best junior defensemen in Canada. He has the talent to.
One thing is for sure, unfortunately for those who were curious to see him in action, this announcement is really not encouraging for his chances to participate in the CH training camp, which starts soon.
