On the "Cam and Strick" podcast, Trevor Zegras told us about the most beautiful moment he lived last season, during his first skate in the NHL. His favorite anecdote involved St. Louis Blues captain Ryan O'Reilly.
"I stood in front of him at the opening face-off and bet him $100 that I would win the face-off. He didn't say anything back. I ended up winning the face-off and I didn't hear from him after that."
It was after the game that Trevor Zegras received a nice surprise from Ryan O'Reilly.
"I had just sat down for dinner and got a notification on my phone that I had received a $100 wire transfer from Ryan. I was wondering who Ryan was. Then I realized it was Ryan O'Reilly," he said with a laugh.
"We finally met the next game and he gave me one of his hockey sticks. It's a great memory from my first season in the NHL."
Ryan O'Reilly is obviously a class act. Zegras seemed to be very appreciative of the Blues' number 90's gesture.
