In the last few seconds, the Montreal Canadiens players jumped on the ice for their morning practice of the day, but before that, two players skated and showed encouraging signs of a possible return to action.
Jake Allen and Mike Matheson were on the ice:
Recall Monday's announcement:
"The Canadiens have issued an emergency recall of goalie Cayden Primeau from the Laval Rocket. He will be the backup to Sam Montembeault who will get the start tonight. Jake Allen has suffered an upper body injury and will be re-evaluated daily." - Montreal Canadiens Allen was injured in practice over the weekend, as reported by Renaud Lavoie, but it's certainly encouraging to see him back in full gear already.
As for Mike Matheson, he has only played 10 games this season due to various injuries.
More details will follow.
