As we reported a few weeks ago, there was a surprise in the NHL waivers when the Nashville Predators put the name of promising Eeli Tolvanen on waivers in December.

Tolvanen was eventually claimed by the Seattle Kraken and is off to a great start with his new team. (5 points and 3 goals in his first 5 games)

He would even have the potential to be a first or second line winger.

According to Sportsnet journalist Elliotte Friedman, it's incredible to realize that 22 teams have ignored Tolvanen - including Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens - especially considering his low salary and young age.

The Nashville GM even recently said that he might bitterly regret the trade.

"I think the most amazing thing about the Tolvanen deal is that 22 teams turned their noses up at it." - Elliotte Friedman

22 teams that might really regret it. Do you think the Habs should have claimed Tolvanen?

Tolvanen, 23, is a Finn drafted in the first round in 2017. In particular, he had been really amazing at the 2018 Olympics. (9 points in 5 games despite his young age)

It will be interesting to watch his evolution, in Seattle.
