As you know, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes unveiled some huge news yesterday, as he announced that Carey Price will be placed on the long-term injury list.

His 2022-23 season is obviously over, before it even gets started, and his career is at risk of ending.

WHAT HAPPENED?

It's a very complex issue, but what you need to know is that Carey had injections in his knee early this summer, and then he was scheduled to have a very important meeting with his doctor in Montreal in mid-July.

It was a crucial meeting for the future.

We just learned that Price cancelled everything (the meeting with the doctor, the follow-up, etc.).

As Alex Desrosiers reports, unfortunately, the injections didn't work and so Price decided to cancel his appointment in Montreal.

"Chantal Machabée, the vice president of communications, confirmed to me that it (the meeting) never happened." - Martin McGuire

Knowing that we had absolutely no news of this famous meeting, we should have known better. Let's just say that from that point on, the news got worse and worse and the verdict seemed to be in (at least for the 2022-23 season).

On 98.5 Sports, former Habs goalie coach Stephane Waite was very disappointed to hear this:

"I know how hard he works, I know how badly he wants to come back, I know how he doesn't want to end his career like this and then, honestly, when I heard about this today, from Kent Hughes, I was very disappointed for Carey." - Stephane Waite

Let's recall what he mentioned towards the end of July:

It's really sad honestly.
