There was a small change today with the Montreal Canadiens during live press conferences in Chicago. As the team prepares to face Connor Bedard's Blackhawks, head coach Martin St-Louis was given a small media day off today.

A well-deserved break.

As a result, his excellent assistant coach, Trevor Letowski, stepped in. Fans got to know Letowski better last year when Martin St-Louis temporarily left the team (for family reasons).

Some interesting statements from the Montreal Canadiens press conference

During the press conference, Letowski had a lot to say about young defenseman Lane Hutson, who was just named NHL Rookie of the Month.

He also spoke about the impact of Alexandre Carrier's arrival since being acquired from the Nashville Predators.

The Canadiens' assistant coach, Trevor Letowski, spoke today about Alexandre Carrier's impact since joining the team:

"In the locker room, he has been a very valuable piece.

I don't know how much credit he gets outside the dressing room, but he deserves it.

He has been a very good player for us.

He is very consistent; we know what we're getting with him.

We've gotten to know him very quickly.

He played well from his very first game and during practices.

He has been a nice addition for us."

Do you think Kent Hughes should hire another assistant coach to support Martin St-Louis, in addition to Letowski and Robidas?
