The NHL website is no exception and has conducted a comprehensive analysis of each team in the league.
And the Montreal Canadiens were not forgotten.
The most interesting aspect analyzed by Pete Jensen from the league's website is undoubtedly the points projection for Habs players.
To do this, five players were singled out.
NHL.com - Montreal Canadiens fantasy projections for 2024-25
Unsurprisingly, Nick Suzuki is predicted to be the player with the most points at the end of the next campaign, according to Jensen.
He is projected to score no less than 81 points, just one shy of averaging a point per game.
This would represent an increase of 4 points compared to the 77 he accumulated in 2023-2024.
Only one other player, according to Jensen, will surpass the 75-point mark for the Habs in 2024-2025, and that would be Cole Caufield.
The 23-year-old is said to have the potential to rank among the NHL's top 10 goal scorers and should be considered one of the top 75 point-getters in the league.
Also worth noting are the projections for Juraj Slafkovsky (67 points), Mike Matheson (54 points), Kirby Dach (40 points), and Lane Hutson (38 points). While Slaf is projected to improve by 17 points, the veteran defenseman is expected to decline by 8. The contributions of Dach and Hutson will also be crucial to the team's overall performance.
Jensen concludes his article with three categories to watch, including one that features none other than Ivan Demidov:
It should be noted that these projections were made before the acquisition of Patrik Laine by the Montreal Canadiens.
This gives us the opportunity to ask you the following question:
Do you believe that Patrik Laine can join this group of two players and score more than 75 points next season with the Habs?
