The Montreal Canadiens made an intriguing choice in 2024 by selecting Michael Hage with the 21st overall pick in the draft.

It's worth noting that Kent Hughes orchestrated a trade specifically to move up a few spots in order to draft Hage.

Before joining the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA, Michael had showcased his offensive abilities in the USHL with the Chicago Steel.

In the last season, he accumulated 75 points in 54 games, earning him a spot at the university.

An acquisition by Kent Hughes already turning heads: strong start to the season for Michael Hage in the NCAA

Since arriving at Michigan, Michael Hage has already stood out.

In just four games, he has collected six points, including three goals. His impressive start to the season on the second line suggests he could become an essential piece of the Canadiens' future lineup.

His potential is already catching attention, and Kent Hughes, the Canadiens' general manager, might have found a future cornerstone for the team.

Michael Hage could sign a contract with Montreal in a few seasons, or perhaps even in a few months, possibly joining the big club sooner than expected.

Fans have reason to be excited as the team looks to build a strong roster for the years ahead.

Hage, now 18 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 187-pound forward. A certain Craig Button (along with Steven Ellis) recently stated that he was possibly one of the top 10 players available in the 2024 draft.

His shortened 2022-23 season (10 points in 13 games) could very well be the only reason for his "slide" to the 21st overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens.

He will be an interesting name to watch in the coming years, that's for sure.
