It's getting very serious between Steven Stamkos and Montreal
Since the elimination of the Tampa Bay Lightning, some journalists see possibly Steven Stamkos signing with Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens.
However, these ideas initially came mainly from Hometown journalists.
Now, it's becoming more serious. Journalists from all over the NHL, journalists from Tampa Bay, and reporters from Sportsnet are starting to link Stamkos to the Canadiens.
Steven Stamkos signing with the Canadiens as a free agent: a real possibility?
Knowing that the relationship between Stamkos and the Lightning seems to be fragile, knowing that he could join here Martin St-Louis, Vincent Lecavalier, and Kent Hughes, could Steven Stamkos actually be an option this summer?
More and more very reliable sources are starting to believe it.
There is notably the Sportsnet network, which has just unveiled the list of the four favorite teams to sign Stamkos, if he becomes an unrestricted free agent, and you can guess the rest.
The Canadiens are on it.
«Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, and Nashville would be the preferred places for Stamkos, if he becomes a free agent.» - Sportsnet
