See the official announcement from the Canadiens and new details on Joshua Roy's departure from the lineup for Montreal.

The young Quebec forward is indeed heading to Montreal and has been temporarily removed from the CH lineup. His trip to the West seems to be over, and Tanner Pearson is likely to take his place in the lineup.

"Joshua Roy sidelined for an indefinite period."

- Montreal Canadiens

The Habs initially simply announced this, before confirming in the last few seconds that the forward indeed suffered an upper-body injury last night.

A very bad surprise on this Wednesday afternoon.

"VANCOUVER - The General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, announced on Wednesday that forward Joshua Roy suffered an injury during Tuesday's game against the Oilers in Edmonton. Roy is on his way to Montreal for a thorough evaluation of his condition and will be out of the lineup for an indefinite period." - Montreal Canadiens

Some journalists, like Anthony Martineau from TVA Sports, provided more details:

"I ran into Josh this morning at the Vancouver airport and spoke with him for a few minutes. He was wearing a brace on his right hand. He is certainly eager to get the results of the exams, which should be coming soon."

Let's really hope it's not too serious.

"Joshua Roy injured and returning to Montreal for more thorough examinations. Absence indefinite.

He blocked a shot with his right hand last night against the Oilers.

He had X-rays last night, but more extensive tests are necessary." - Patrick Friolet, RDS

It's really a shame for Josh, who was playing so well and was truly blossoming before our eyes.

Let's hope it's not too serious!
