The Montreal Canadiens have just made announcements involving Joshua Roy and Patrik Laine.

First, we have confirmation that Roy's time with the Canadiens is over for now.

He has just been sent back to the Laval Rocket:

A reassignment for Joshua Roy and a return for Patrik Laine?

This announcement would confirm the return of the big Finnish forward for the Canadiens!

Let's remember that just a few minutes ago, we reported the following about Laine who appears to be on his way back:

It's disappointing to see Joshua already heading back to Laval, but at the same time, it's high-quality reinforcements for Pascal Vincent's squad, which is currently going through its worst stretch of the 2024-2025 season.

This is another interesting announcement from the Canadiens, who are clearly trying various moves to bounce back.

Joshua Roy's most recent stint in the NHL ends with no points in 4 games, while he also has 16 points in 17 games in the AHL this season (eight goals).

The Canadiens have sent Joshua Roy to the Laval Rocket. A disappointing short stint for number 89, who failed to make an impact. He could have stayed in Montreal even with Patrik Laine's return, but the Canadiens clearly prefer to operate with 22 players rather than the maximum of 23.

He will look to pick up where he left off with the Canadiens' farm team.

As for Patrik Laine, this will be his very first game of the 2024-2025 regular season and his first game since a major knee injury sustained in a preseason game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Will Laine have an impact on the Canadiens?
