The Montreal Canadiens have indeed pulled off the steal of the year, according to Martin Lapointe.
The director of player personnel and amateur scouting director of the Montreal Canadiens was unequivocal: the Montreal Canadiens pulled off the steal of this year's draft with their 5th overall pick.
Ivan Demidov is the steal of this class, according to Martin Lapointe
Well, that's very exciting for the future.
Asked if Ivan Demidov is the steal of the 2024 NHL draft, Lapointe responded.
That's an "understatement"
He added that simply calling Demidov a steal is too weak a statement. He is much more than that for the Montreal Canadiens.
Wow.
A little later during his press conference, he even repeated it again:
"The director of player personnel and amateur scouting, Martin Lapointe, called Ivan Demidov the steal of 2024." - Priyanta Emrith
Clearly, they are very happy and very confident with their selection, and we are also so happy with this decision.
Ivan Demidov is now a Montreal Canadiens player, and this could change everything for the next 10-15 years.
What a beautiful weekend for the Habs.
