A new goalie has just been added to the Montreal Canadiens organization.

This was unexpected, especially since it seemed to be a settled matter, but we have just learned that goalie Hunter Jones is also joining the Canadiens organization.

Hunter Jones with the Laval Rocket, to start

This is a new name added to the likes of Samuel Montembeault, Cayden Primeau, Jakub Dobes, and Connor Hughes. Interesting.

"The Laval Rocket announced Monday that the team has agreed to the terms of a one-year contract (2024-2025 AHL, two-way) with goalie Hunter Jones." - Laval Rocket

We are talking about a 6-foot-5 monster who, a few years ago, was considered one of the top NHL prospects in goal.

Hunter Jones, who is only 23 years old, is indeed a 6-foot-5, 204-pound goalie. He was a second-round pick by the Minnesota Wild in 2019 (59th overall).

In recent seasons, he has posted save percentages of 0.889, 0.929, and 0.884 in the American Hockey League with the Iowa Wild.

He certainly has great potential, so he is a name to watch in the Canadiens' organizational chart.

Details to follow.
