While forward Kirby Dach had another terrible game, this time against the Vegas Golden Knights, he was punished by head coach Martin St. Louis.
He skipped a few shifts, was sent to the end of the bench, and then the Canadiens announced some changes.
The coach is making his message clear.
It's surprising to see that Slafkovsky is punished more harshly than Dach once again, but we can understand Martin's need to take concrete actions to try and get his point across.
With these announced changes, also note that Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield have been reunited.
Dach essentially handed a goal to the Golden Knights, a goal that hurt even more in the circumstances.
The Canadiens' playoff chances are slowly slipping away, but a few consecutive wins and the return of Patrik Laine could help get them back in the mix.
Juraj Slafkovsky, aged 20, has 11 points in 17 games this season but only one goal.
In his career in the NHL, he has accumulated 71 points in 138 games.
Details to follow.
