Forward Kirby Dach is clearly not having a good start to the season with the Montreal Canadiens.

While some saw him as the future elite first-line center of the Canadiens, and others believed he was better than Nick Suzuki a year ago, everything seems to have changed today.

Some have even completely given up on Dach.

This includes former Montreal Canadiens player and current BPM Sports host Georges Laraque, who says he has thrown in the towel with number 77.

It would be over for Kirby Dach with the Canadiens if Georges Laraque had the final say

Here is an excerpt of his remarks:

«I've given up on him [Kirby Dach].

I'm tired of talking after every game about his effort, which just isn't there.

At some point, we need to accept that he's not a top-six player!

Can we finally admit that what we expected from him just isn't the case, and that's okay.»

- Georges Laraque, BPM Sports

Do you agree with him? Have you given up on Kirby Dach, and do you think Kent Hughes should start looking at other options?

Personally, I haven't «given up» on Kirby Dach, but I'm starting to get anxious to see him break out.

I still believe his long absence is having an impact, but it's true that his lack of consistent effort is starting to become concerning because he clearly has the talent and skills to become a dominant NHL player.

Also, it seems Martin St-Louis wants to send a clear message to Dach, as he has been demoted ahead of tonight's game against Utah.

A case to follow.
