Martin St-Louis Makes Important Statement After Punishing His Players Today, Adding Another Layer
There's a noticeable change in tone from Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis.
While he's been calm and patient since the start of the season, last night's performance against the Washington Capitals seems to have been the last straw.
The party's over and the players paid the price during practice this morning:
A new press conference was scheduled for today, as announced by the Montreal Canadiens, and Martin St-Louis maintained his tough tone from yesterday.
After the punishment he imposed on his players this morning, he added another layer.
Martin St-Louis breaks the silence after today's punitive practice for the Montreal Canadiens, live from Washington
Here's an excerpt of what he had to say.
«We have to change certain habits on the ice and our mindset. If you don't change that, you won't have any consistency in the league. If you don't change that, you won't have 4, 5, 6 wins in a row. Winning is important but right now, it's about changing the habits and the mindset.»

«In life, everything has an expiration date. Patience too,» he added.
Punitive practice in Washington: St-Louis's patience has run out.
The full press conference can be found here.
Now it's up to the players to respond and perform better, and personally, I loved what happened today.
I also loved the response from captain Nick Suzuki, who sent a strong message to reporters in Washington.
Now, it's time to respond with action.
