Saturday night, seeing Patrik Laine leave the Montreal Canadiens' preseason game in pain was a tough moment for everyone.

Arriving this summer with the desire to revive his career in Montreal, Laine had sparked a lot of hope. The concerning injury he suffered raised fears of a ruined season, but today, the news is much better.

The Canadiens announced that Laine will be out for only 2 to 3 months, and it's fair to say he's dodged the worst.

The fact that he was wearing a brace at the time of his injury likely saved Patrik Laine's knee

One reason the injury isn't more serious is that he was wearing a knee brace during the game, which likely limited the damage. This brace might have been what saved Laine from a much longer absence, bringing great relief to him, the team, and the fans who feared losing him for the entire season.

On Instagram, Patrik Laine reassured everyone by stating that number 92 will be back, showing that he remains in good spirits despite everything. He also took the time to thank the fans for their support, which must have warmed his heart.

Although he will miss the first games of the season, Laine can count on a warm dose of love from the Montreal public as soon as he's ready to return to play. And despite this setback, he seems more determined than ever to make the most of this new opportunity in Montreal.

We're very happy to have him, and he seems very happy to be here.

Moreover, please note that he joined his teammates in Mont-Tremblant, which is excellent news.

A knee brace possibly saved him from a much longer absence.
