Patrik Laine's new number revealed by the Montreal Canadiens due to #29 being retired for Ken Dryden
In the last few seconds, the Montreal Canadiens made an announcement involving Patrik Laine.
Unsurprisingly, the Habs' new acquisition must change his jersey number, as his traditional #29 is retired in the rafters of the Bell Centre thanks to a certain Ken Dryden.
Patrik Laine will wear number 92 with the Montreal Canadiens
Laine has decided to simply reverse the numbers, and he will officially wear #92 with the Montreal Canadiens.
So, for those who want to order an official Laine jersey, you have your final answer:
I have a feeling we will see many number 92 jerseys at the Bell Centre this season.
Let's not forget that the 6-foot-5 Finnish forward was acquired yesterday afternoon by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, along with a second-round draft pick, in exchange for defenseman Jordan Harris.
It's a big trade between Hughes and the Columbus Blue Jackets, and a deal that seems to really excite Habs fans. (with good reason)
Number 92 is likely to dazzle us over the coming months!
Welcome officially to Montreal, Patrik Laine!
