A few weeks before the 2024 NHL Draft, which will take place in Las Vegas, Kent Hughes has just met with the young Raoul Boilard.

After a long period of calm in the NHL, it's back on!

With the "Combine" of the NHL, currently happening live from Buffalo:

NHL executives, including those from the Montreal Canadiens, are starting to talk again and are seriously preparing their next acquisitions.

The action is finally resuming.

Several trade discussions are currently taking place in Buffalo, and several important meetings are happening in preparation for the draft.

Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, Martin Lapointe, and Nick Bobrov are all in Buffalo right now.

The "Combine" is obviously important because of the physical tests, but also because the teams have the opportunity to meet the players privately, which is a crucial step before the final draft period.

Players like Juraj Slafkovsky and Jacob Fowler have gained a lot of points with the Montreal Canadiens' executives because of these meetings in Buffalo.

That said, the excellent Marc-Olivier Beaudoin has just revealed an interesting piece of information related to these famous meetings.

«I am told that Raoul Boilard, one of the top prospects of the QMJHL in the upcoming draft, will meet no less than 15 teams at the Combine this week.

Yes, the Canadiens are one of them. Boilard could very well be picked somewhere in the 2nd round. Stay tuned!»

Boilard will therefore meet the Canadiens' executives! Interesting!

Boilard, 18, is a 6-foot-1, 184-pound forward from Sherbrooke. This season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, he has accumulated 62 points in 68 games, including 22 goals.

A name to remember in the second or third round.

Details will follow.
