While the Montreal Canadiens are clearly looking for reinforcement in net behind Samuel Montembeault, there's some hope for the future.

Cayden Primeau unfortunately no longer seems to have the organization's trust, but reinforcements will evidently arrive in the medium term.

In an interview with the NHL's official site, the highly promising young goaltender Jacob Fowler confirmed his intention to sign with the Montreal Canadiens.

He won't pull a Cal Petersen or Adam Fox, which is fantastic news!

He intends to sign with the team that drafted him!

Jacob Fowler shares his thoughts on what's next

In Guillaume Lepage's excellent article, the young goalie indeed discusses what lies ahead in his career.

Here's a particularly telling excerpt where he reveals his intentions quite clearly.

«My aunt still lives in Montreal, and she's well aware of the fans' passion,» he points out.

«I often remind her not to get too carried away by all that. It's the same for me. I have a great opportunity, and the dream is to play for the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, but there are still many steps to take.»

- Jacob Fowler, confirming that his dream is to play for the Habs.

Transitioning to the professional ranks, and the timing of that move, will be the first significant step.

If he manages to keep up his dominant performance in the NCAA and eventually leads his team to the promised land, the temptation to sign a contract with the Canadiens will be strong.

In the discussion, Fowler already speaks extensively about the «next level,» making it clear that it's a goal he keeps in mind every day.

Hearing him say that his dream is to play for the Montreal Canadiens is music to the ears of many fans of the organization.

We highly recommend the full article:

Jacob Fowler, aged 20, has put up incredible stats this season at Boston College (NCAA). We're talking about a 1.55 goals-against average with a save percentage of .943 (8 wins and 2 losses).

Definitely a name to keep an eye on.
