During their most recent game, the Pittsburgh Penguins absolutely had to win in order to remain in a position to participate in the NHL playoffs.

It was certainly, up to now, their most important game of the season, and they lost it. (the Panthers thus took their place in the standings)

Unfortunately for them, their big summer acquisition, Jeff Petry, directly cost them the winning goal.

See the sequence in question.

Does this remind you of any memories, dear CH fans?
"But what is Petry doing there, again!? Unbelievable..."

The former Montreal Canadiens defenseman completely removed himself from the play with a rookie move, and Pittsburgh Penguins fans couldn't believe it on social media.

Reading the comments, they seem to be really "fed up" with Petry and are not at all satisfied with his season.

There has clearly been a buildup of very costly mistakes throughout the season, and he has disappointed in his first season in Pittsburgh.

"Inexcusable decision by Petry, and it's 2-0."

See some of the many comments, including some fans calling for Petry to leave Pittsburgh as early as this summer. (others really miss Mike Matheson)

Unfortunately, this Penguins loss also hurt the Habs in a way, because it allowed the Florida Panthers to enter the playoffs for now. (and Kent Hughes acquired the Panthers' 2023 first-round pick, as you know)
