Surprisingly, over the last few weeks, there's been a lot of buzz about a possible trade involving forward Sidney Crosby, especially on BPM Sports airwaves.
The guys from the "Spittin' Chiclets" podcast also mentioned that Sidney Crosby would end his career (according to them) either with the Pittsburgh Penguins, with Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche, or with the Montreal Canadiens.
Jean-Charles Lajoie from TVA Sports also gave fans hope:
"Sidney Crosby had a Montreal Canadiens pajama as a kid. The CH was his team, and he often said he'd love to play for the Canadiens."
An article boldly titled "CH: Fans Can Dream About Crosby."
Personally, we hadn't talked about it because we didn't really believe it, but now, Crosby has made a statement that definitively addresses the situation.
Sidney Crosby Comments on His Situation and Future with the Penguins
When asked by journalist Rob Rossi from The Athletic, the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins was very clear about his intentions.
"I'm not thinking about my next contract right now, but yes, I've always said it: I want to finish my career in Pittsburgh. But right now, I'm focused on trying to make the playoffs." - Sidney Crosby
There you have it! He confirms here that he absolutely wants to finish his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins. That settles the matter.
Crosby, 36 years old, has accumulated 1566 points in 1253 career NHL games (582 goals) and will be eligible to sign a new contract this summer.
