Leafs Goalie Involved in Another Cheating Controversy
Last night, the Leafs beat the Senators 3-0, which is great news for Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov, who got a shutout for his performance during this game. However, one play has some fans questioning the legitimacy of his shutout.
Samsonov Knocks the Net Off On Purpose
It appears that during a Senators power play, Samsonov knocked the net off, in order to force a stop in the play. It is up to interpretation, it appears that Samsonov moves over to the post, stumbles and falls on the post, knocking the net off of the post.
Check out the play here:
Do you think that Samsonov did this on purpose? It makes sense that he wanted to give the Leafs a stoppage in play while they were on the penalty kill, perhaps he saw this moment as an opportunity to do so. Or it was an actual, honest accident. Hopefully it was just an accident, and Samsonov has not picked up this bad habit.
