Refs forced to intervene after disrespectful gesture from Leafs player
The Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs meet again for another first round series in what we can assure you is a chance for revenge Leafs as they have been proven unsuccessful each time they face against the Bruins. The Leafs are currently 0-8 in their last 8 meetings against the fiesty Bruins. Throughout the series, there will be a ton of trash talking, foul play, and tough decisions by referees, which makes this rivalry so great. Last night, NHL referees had to intervene over a questionable action.
On Saturday night, the Maple Leafs suffered a very tough loss at the hands of the Bruins in Game 1 with the Bruins keeping their foot on the gas pedal from the start to the finish which evidently stunned the Leafs. In what was a game to forget for the Maple Leafs as there wasn't any concrete positives to take from this game, but following the conclusion of the game it sounds as though at least one Maple Leafs player tried to make a message out of something from this game amid the frustration around them after the embarassing 5-1 loss.
The Bruins win Game 1 by a 5-1 final and the Leafs are trying to skate off the ice with the game puck. Referees had to intervene.
In a regular season match, sure, not a big deal however in the playoffs, winning teams tend to take the game puck to the dressing room to place it on the team's wall or bulletin board to showcase the amount of wins they collected and how many are left.
Teams typically have some sort of board or item where you add a puck from every win, hoping to complete it with 16 pucks
The Bruins won't forget what the Maple Leafs did, and it is safe to say that the Leafs have just dug themselves a deeper hole then they already were.
