2023 Draft: A major target of the Canadiens with the fifth overall pick has just leaked, and it's not Matvei Michkov

The 2023 National Hockey League Draft is rapidly approaching, and as it gets closer, more interesting information is surfacing, particularly regarding the player targeted by the Montreal Canadiens with the fifth overall pick.

In the past few minutes, the excellent journalist Nicolas Cloutier from TVA Sports has provided us with some good information.

"A reliable source in Europe has informed me that the Canadiens have a particular interest in David Reinbacher. His former head coach, who compares him to Seider, also believes that the defenseman will be selected very early on June 28th," said Nicolas Cloutier.

Reinbacher seems to be a significant target for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton at the 5th overall pick.

We are left to wonder if the Canadiens prefer him over Matvei Michkov. In any case, it is now clear that the Habs are interested in players other than the top five prospects.

They are seriously interested in other players besides Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, Will Smith, and Matvei Michkov (the logical top five).
